The shutters have closed on another friends and family week at 3D. As always, it was great to see so many familiar faces bringing along their mates and loved ones to see what CrossFit and 3D is all about.
Over 4 million people take part in group exercise across the UK and one of the many foundations of CrossFit is community. Working out alongside your peers not only pushes you on but increases endorphins so you keep coming back.
Which is why we regularly host free friends and family week for anyone who is CrossFit-curious but not quite ready to come to a class solo. If you aren’t used to CrossFit movements and terminology, it can make it a whole lot easier having a friend beside you who does. Our trainers are, of course, always on hand to answer every question, but having an actual mate to get through the workout with is a definite bonus. Not to mention they can introduce you to the other members so you feel less lonely if you do want to come back (and quite a lot do).
Friends and family week is also a chance to see our members passing on their love of CrossFit. We all know Crossfitters love to bang on about their WOD, so there’s nothing like seeing our members smug faces when they finally drag their nearest and dearest down to a session.
Many of our current members joined after trying CrossFit for free during friends and family week. We get that the fear of signing up to something new, and paying for it, can be a barrier. We love Crossfit, we’re not shy about it and we’ll keep inviting your friends and family back until they give in, sign up and become as obsessed as the rest of us.
N.B. We promise not to put Murph on the board during any friends and family week. You can hold us to that.
For anyone that missed the boat, we do actually offer free taster sessions all year round.
